Holy Thursday Pilgrimage to Seven Churches
The Seven Churches Pilgrimage is the practice of visiting seven different churches on Holy Thursday, in imitation of the journey of Christ on the eve of his crucifixion. Pilgrims undertaking this journey anywhere in the world can visit any seven churches while adoring Christ in the Blessed Sacrament upon the Altar of Repose, fulfilling his request of his disciples to stay with him as he awaited his Passion.
How to do the Pilgrimage
- Choose a starting Church
- Choose your path of travel from the suggested churches below:
- Saint Bonaventure - 803 State Rd. Plymouth | Open till 10pm
- Our Lady of Lourdes (Mary Queen of Martyrs) - 130 Main St. Carver | Open till 12am
- Saint Mary - 313 Court St. Plymouth | Open till 11pm
- Holy Family - 601 Tremont St. Duxbury | Open till 10:30pm
- Our Lady of the Assumption – 40 Canal St. Marshfield | Open till 10pm
- Saint Christine’s - 1295 Main St. Marshfield | Open till 10:30pm
- Saint Mary (Our Lady of the Angels) - 392 Hanover St. Hanover Open till 10:30pm3.
At each church, use the readings and prayers provided. Please keep in mind that every church is different, so please be respectful of other people’s presence in each church. Read, Reflect, and Pray silently if needed.
